Atlassian Embeds Agents in Jira, Embraces MCP for Third-Party Integrations

Atlassian launched open beta of agents in Jira, allowing teams to assign work to Rovo AI agents and MCP-enabled third-party agents directly from the Jira board. Agents can be @mentioned in comments, embedded into workflows, and respect existing permissions, audit trails, and approval flows. The new Rovo MCP Server gives compatible AI clients (Claude, Cursor, Gemini CLI, Lovable) secure access to Jira and Confluence.
