Software repos accumulate unstructured knowledge in commit messages, PR discussions, and issue threads that developers and AI coding assistants rarely reuse. CommitDistill introduces a typed-memory architecture that distills this history into a lightweight knowledge layer, making repository-level institutional knowledge accessible to both humans and coding agents. Addresses a practical gap where every coding agent re-discovers context that was already discussed in the commit log.
