SAP and AWS announced SAP BDC Connect for Amazon Athena, providing bi-directional zero-copy integration that keeps data in place while preserving its original business context and eliminating replication entirely. Teams can now deliver self-service analytics and build AI agents across all lines of business without waiting for IT to replicate and provision SAP data — with direct access paths to Amazon Bedrock and SageMaker for AI workloads. GA is planned for H2 2026, with similar integrations already live for Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, and Microsoft Fabric.
