Apple's Vibe Coding App Ban Expands — Replit, Vibecode, 'Anything' All Blocked Under Guideline 2.5.2
Apple has now blocked three major vibe coding apps from the App Store (Replit, Vibecode, and 'Anything') under Guideline 2.5.2, which prohibits apps from downloading, installing, or executing code that changes functionality. Apple's position: apps can help users build other apps, but cannot execute generated code within the app itself. Replit's proposed workaround (opening previews in an external browser) breaks the seamless UX that made vibe coding compelling. This creates a de facto moat for native development and threatens the entire 'build apps with AI on mobile' category.
