OpenAI Signs First Brazilian Media Partnership with Grupo Folha and UOL — Settles 2025 Content Lawsuit

OpenAI announced its first content deal in Brazil on May 25, partnering with newspaper Folha de S.Paulo and portal UOL to bring real-time verified journalism into ChatGPT with attribution and source links. The deal also settles a 2025 lawsuit Folha filed over unauthorized content use, and gives both media companies access to Codex, ChatGPT Enterprise, and OpenAI APIs for editorial workflows. Brazil is among OpenAI's largest markets with 50M+ monthly active ChatGPT users and ~140M daily messages.
