OpenAI Expands Codex with 'Sites,' Six Role-Specific Business Plugins, and Annotations

On June 2, OpenAI shipped a major Codex update adding 'Sites' (semi-private hosted dashboards/apps shareable by workspace URL, in preview for Business/Enterprise), an in-place 'Annotations' editing tool, and six role-specific plugins covering sales, data analytics, creative production, product design, public-equity investing, and investment banking — bundling 62 apps and 110 skills. OpenAI says non-developers now make up ~20% of Codex's 5M weekly users and are adopting 3x faster than engineers. Codex is clearly pivoting from a coding agent into a general agentic-work platform for business roles.
