A systematic review of 48 peer-reviewed publications (2016–2026) documents a scientometric inflection in which annual LLM-for-software-engineering output grew roughly five-fold after late 2022. It proposes reframing development around intent, collaboration, and verification rather than code production alone. A useful map of where AI-native SE practice and education are heading.
