Anthropic Signs AI-Safety MOU with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT

Coinciding with its Seoul office opening, Anthropic signed a memorandum of understanding with South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT to establish Korean-language model safety evaluations and cyber-threat-intelligence sharing, and to extend Claude access to roughly 60 university researchers. The agreement is a counter-move to the US export ban that is simultaneously cutting Korean access to Anthropic's top models. It shows labs negotiating country-level safety frameworks directly with governments to preserve market footholds.
