arXiv: micro-transaction markets for verified product information in agentic e-commerce
A new paper ('Paying to Know') reframes the shopping agent away from a recommender/conversion tool and toward a buyer of verified product information through micro-transaction markets. Rather than matching a user to a catalogue entry, the agent pays small amounts to obtain trustworthy, verified facts before recommending — an economic model for how autonomous commerce agents could source ground truth. It's an early signal of how payment rails and verification incentives may get baked into agentic shopping.
