Empirical Study Quantifies Diminishing Returns in LLM Repair Loops
arXiv·medium signal
Evaluates how many generate-validate-repair iterations actually help in LLM software-engineering loops driven by compiler and test feedback, finding gains taper off after a small number of rounds. It puts numbers on the ubiquitous repair-loop pattern and its cost/benefit. Directly useful for setting retry budgets in coding agents instead of guessing.
