Guillermo Rauch: Single-Lab Partnerships Are Obsolete — Vercel Sees 6M Deploys a Day, Half Triggered by Coding Agents

In a TechCrunch interview following Vercel's ShipNYC conference, Rauch argued the industry is decoupling models from agents, with customers moving to plug-and-play stacks spanning OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, DeepSeek and GLM-5.2 rather than betting on one lab. He disclosed that Vercel now handles 6 million deployments per day — half of them initiated by coding agents — and more than 1 trillion tokens daily through its AI gateway.
