UK puts AWS, Google, Microsoft, and Oracle under direct financial-regulator oversight

The UK government has designated the four largest cloud providers as critical third parties subject to direct oversight by financial regulators. This is the first major jurisdiction to regulate hyperscalers as systemic financial infrastructure rather than as vendors — and since those same four clouds host nearly all enterprise AI inference, the regulatory perimeter now implicitly extends to AI model serving.
