Google brings Gemini to Waze with voice destination search and conversational map reporting

Google is integrating Gemini into Waze with voice-driven destination search — asking things like 'find me parking close to Grand Mall' or 'a gas station nearby with the lowest prices' returns navigable options — rolling out first to Waze's global beta community. The July 13, 2026 update also adds Gemini-powered Conversational Reporting (saying 'the road is closed here' becomes a suggested map edit sent to local editors, live globally on iOS/Android), a 'less chatty' voice mode, a dedicated Motorcycle Mode, and routes learned from your prior trips.
