Four Near-Identical 'Pay to Rank' Leaderboard Sites Hit Show HN Within Fourteen Hours
Between 17:38 UTC Aug 22 and 07:00 UTC Aug 23, Show HN carried aurabid.now, outbid-directory.lol (shipped with a Cloudflare Workers boilerplate so others can clone it), leaderbid.lol and 2048bid.lol, all selling the same thing: pay money to rank #1 on a leaderboard. Each drew 2 to 3 points. The boilerplate post is the tell, the pattern is a template being forked faster than anyone reads the originals. Worth logging as a signal about Show HN's noise floor rather than as a market: when the marginal cost of a full product drops to a prompt, launch surfaces fill with variants of whatever shipped yesterday.
