Bloomberg reports that at a company-wide meeting this week, Sam Altman told employees OpenAI could slow its cutting-edge development, possibly together with other labs, while acknowledging some rivals may refuse. Wired separately reports that OpenAI asked members of Congress whether an industry-wide slowdown would violate antitrust rules. The comments follow Jacob Coxon's resignation post, which drew more than 150 million views. For builders, the antitrust question is the real constraint: any coordinated pause needs legal cover before labs can agree to it.
