Within hours of Amodei's essay, the Hugging Face CEO announced an Open Alignment Initiative led by Thomas Wolf and publicly requested a seat in Anthropic's embedded-evaluators program. His stated reasoning is that alignment "won't be solved behind the closed doors of a handful of frontier labs." It converts Amodei's proposal from a unilateral pledge into a test of who Anthropic will actually let inside.
