A Harness Survey of 700 Enterprise Engineers Found 77% Claim a Full Agent Inventory but Only 44% Run Discovery Tooling
Harness published its State of Agent DLC 2026 report on September 11, based on a Sapio Research survey of 700 technology professionals at large enterprises in the US, UK, France, Germany and India conducted in July 2026. 77% say they have a complete inventory of every agent, MCP server and LLM in their environment, but only 44% run active discovery to verify it; 74% trust their agent testing while only 19% have automated release gates. The consistent shape is confidence in the mid-70s against controls in place for under half, and in places under one in five.
