Agent-Integrated Software names the coordination problem of users editing shared objects while delegated work runs

arXiv 2609.11381 (submitted 2026-09-10) treats embedding an agent in an existing application as a persistent coordination problem rather than a feature: users revise goals and mutate shared objects while delegated execution continues. It proposes AIS as a pattern pairing a conventional core, direct interaction and a built-in agent, with Intent-Level Interaction Abstraction as the task semantics users inspect and control, related through an open transition-system model. Interaction contracts constrain the relation via task bindings, role-specific authority, control transitions and outcome evidence, with continuous assurance maintaining scoped claims as dependencies change. The argued point is that locally valid components are not sufficient.
