CROSS-CATEGORY: Salesforce, Zendesk and Workable All Shipped Named Agent Portfolios on Sept 14, Each Metered in a Different Unit
Within the same 24 hours, Salesforce launched a job-ready Agentforce portfolio metered in Agentic Work Units, Zendesk launched Industry and Custom Agents for commerce, and Workable took four recruiting agents to GA on a pay-as-you-go credit model. Three unrelated categories (CRM, support, HR) converged on the same product shape, but on three incompatible billing units: Flex Credits, AWUs, and per-action credits at 1 credit per screen, 2 per source, 10 per candidate chat. For a builder the practical consequence is that there is still no portable way to compare agent cost across vendors, which is exactly the confusion Constellation flagged in Salesforce's own pricing last week.
