All 15 Academic LLM Trading Agent Schemes Had Security Vulnerabilities and 80% Failed a Core Robustness Metric
FARSIGHT (arXiv 2609.19705, 17 Sep 2026) evaluates 15 representative academic financial LLM trading schemes at the scheme level on two axes: robustness under market turbulence including flash-crash-like scenarios, and security against attacks on information sources, attacks on the agent, and agent-as-attacker behavior. Every scheme showed security vulnerabilities and 80% failed at least one core robustness metric. The authors argue the two failure modes are inseparable, since a small misjudgment can cascade into a market-wide crash unaided while an adversary can trigger the same collapse cheaply and deliberately.
