Product Hunt's September 19 Leaderboard Has an Agent at Number Two That Launched Five Days Earlier, and a Rival to MCP at Number Seven
Bolt Forge took the number two slot on Product Hunt for September 19 with 104 upvotes, but bolt.new's own blog dates the launch to September 14 as a research preview running open models only (GLM 5.3 Flash by default, with GLM 5.3, Kimi K3 and DeepSeek v4 Pro), offering Pro users up to 50x usage through October 14 in exchange for opting in to share anonymized build sessions that train an Arcee AI open-weight model. Ruby UTCP landed at number seven with 82 upvotes as a protocol for AI agent tool calling, a direct alternative framing to MCP. Four of the top ten (Bolt Forge, Doneit 3.2, Ruby UTCP, VoiceCap) are agent products, and the data-for-compute trade Bolt is running is the more interesting business model story than any of the launches.
