ServiceNow's Q1 2026 AI Gateway release introduces Client Identity Metadata Document (CIMD) auto-registration: an AI Steward registers a CIMD-enabled host once in AI Control Tower, and that single registration automatically covers all MCP servers running on that host. This removes the manual per-server registration friction that has been a governance bottleneck in enterprise MCP deployments. For enterprises running dozens of MCP servers behind a single AI Gateway, this changes the operational model from O(n) onboarding to O(1).
