Mastercard Completes Live End-to-End Agentic Payment Transactions Across Latin America with 17+ Issuers

Mastercard executed live, fully authorized agentic payment transactions across Latin America and the Caribbean using Agent Pay infrastructure. Over 17 issuers and processors — including BAC, Bancolombia, Banco Itaú, Santander, and Banamex — completed real purchases (makeup, groceries, books, digital goods) where AI agents initiated and completed payments on behalf of customers with full cardholder consent. Separately, Santander and Mastercard completed Europe's first live agent-executed payment. This is the first large-scale production deployment of AI-agent-initiated payments across multiple financial institutions.
