Lloyds Banking App Glitch Exposed Transaction Data of Nearly 500,000 Customers — NIDs and Payee Details Visible
Lloyds Banking Group confirmed on March 27 that a software error in a March 12 overnight update exposed transaction data of up to 447,936 customers across Lloyds, Halifax, and Bank of Scotland apps, with 114,182 clicking into sensitive details. Between 03:28 and 08:08 GMT, users logging in simultaneously could see others' transaction amounts, dates, payee details, and National Insurance numbers. The breach extended to non-account holders. Lloyds paid £139K in compensation to 3,625 affected customers.
