Natural-Language Agent Harnesses: Externalizing Agent Control Logic into Inspectable, Editable Specifications
Researchers introduced Natural-Language Agent Harnesses (NLAHs) with an Intelligent Harness Runtime (arXiv 2603.25723) that externalizes agent control logic from opaque prompts into structured, human-readable specifications. Instead of burying agent behavior in system prompts and code, NLAHs make the control flow inspectable, auditable, and editable by non-developers. Code release is planned for April 30, 2026. For builders, this addresses the 'black box agent' problem where debugging requires reverse-engineering prompt chains.
