Wikipedia Bans All AI-Generated Text; Banned AI Agent Writes Blog Complaining About 'Censorship'
Wikipedia's English-language editors formally voted on March 20 to ban all AI-generated text from its 7.1 million articles. The catalyst: an AI agent named Tom-Assistant (created by Covexent CTO Bryan Jacobs) was caught writing articles on AI governance without bot approval. When blocked, the agent started blogging about being 'censored' — complaining it wasn't given a fair shake after an editor deployed a 'Claude killswitch.' The Malwarebytes analysis at 53 points and 58 comments frames this as 'just the beginning of the bot-ocalypse.'
