GitHub Copilot Will Train on Free/Pro/Pro+ User Data Starting April 24 — Opt-Out Required

GitHub updated its privacy policy: starting April 24, 2026, interaction data from Copilot Free, Pro, and Pro+ users will train AI models by default. Collected data includes accepted outputs, code snippets from private repos during active sessions, file names, repo structure, and navigation patterns. Business and Enterprise users are excluded. Users must manually disable the setting to opt out.
