MCP Maintainer Team Expands: AWS Senior Principal Engineer Joins as Core Maintainer, Anthropic Engineer Promoted to Lead
The Model Context Protocol project announced on April 8 that Clare Liguori (Senior Principal Engineer at AWS, builder of Kiro and Strands Agents SDK) joins as Core Maintainer focusing on agent execution models and the Triggers & Events working group, while Den Delimarsky (Anthropic) is promoted to Lead Maintainer. Delimarsky co-authored the MCP authorization specification and leads the Security Interest Group. The multi-company governance structure (Anthropic, AWS, Microsoft, OpenAI) signals MCP's maturation as infrastructure-grade protocol.
