Hermes Agent v0.8.0 Ships MCP OAuth 2.1, Background Task Notifications, and 209 Merged PRs in Largest Release Yet

Nous Research released Hermes Agent v0.8.0 on April 8 with MCP OAuth 2.1 support, background task auto-notifications, live model switching across all platforms, consolidated SSRF/timing attack/tar traversal security hardening, and a new plugin system with CLI subcommands and session lifecycle hooks. The release also adds centralized logging, config validation, and expanded platform support across Matrix, Discord, Signal, and Mattermost. With 209 merged PRs and 82 resolved issues, this is the most substantial update to the self-improving open-source agent framework.
