YouTube Expands AI Deepfake Detection and Removal to Celebrities
TechCrunch·medium signal
YouTube is expanding its AI likeness detection tool to celebrities, giving talent and their representatives the ability to find and request removal of AI-generated deepfake content. The platform's detection feature previously covered a narrower set of users and now searches YouTube proactively for AI deepfakes of public figures. Both TechCrunch and The Verge confirmed the expansion, which is the most significant platform-level deepfake enforcement action from a major video platform to date.
