Pattern: Radical Postmortems Build Developer Trust — Specific Dates, Versions, and Eval Numbers Set the Bar
Anthropic's April 23 postmortem named exact dates, version numbers, and percentage quality drops for each of three bugs — then reset usage limits and committed to soak periods, per-model evals, and stricter system prompt controls. Compare with the MCP 'expected behavior' response, which damaged trust. For tool vendors and open-source maintainers, detailed public disclosure with specifics recovers credibility; vague acknowledgment does not. The postmortem format itself is becoming a competitive differentiator.
