GitHub Copilot's April VS Code release includes Autopilot (public preview) — fully autonomous agent sessions that run without human intervention. Subagents can now invoke other subagents, enabling complex multi-step task decomposition. Also shipping: integrated browser debugging, image/video support in chat, and a unified editor for chat customizations. Copilot CLI adds tab-completion for slash command arguments and branch-aware session selection.
