Microsoft shipped Copilot Agent Mode as the default experience across Word, Excel, and PowerPoint on April 22, announced by CEO Satya Nadella. Agent Mode enables multi-step autonomous task execution — drafting documents, restructuring analyses, rebuilding decks — without per-step prompting.
