OpenAI Expands Stargate to Five New Sites — $400B+ Investment, 7GW Planned Capacity

OpenAI, Oracle, and SoftBank announced five new Stargate data center sites beyond the flagship Abilene, Texas campus, bringing planned capacity to nearly 7 gigawatts and over $400B in investment over three years. The Abilene campus is already operational on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure running early training and inference workloads. OpenAI is also developing its own 'Titan' AI chip with Broadcom on TSMC 3nm, targeting mass production in H2 2026.
