Claude Design Launches: Anthropic Enters Design Tool Market with Code-to-Canvas Pipeline Against Figma
Anthropic launched Claude Design on April 17 as a research preview for Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise subscribers, powered by Claude Opus 4.7. The tool reads your codebase and design files during onboarding to build a custom design system, then generates prototypes, slides, and one-pagers using your actual colors, typography, and components. The killer feature is the handoff-to-Claude-Code pipeline: when a design is ready, Claude packages everything into a bundle that can be passed to Claude Code with a single instruction — creating a closed loop from exploration to prototype to production code that no other design tool offers.
