OpenAI ships GPT-5.5-Cyber GA and "Patch the Planet" three weeks after Anthropic's Glasswing.

On June 22 OpenAI moved GPT-5.5-Cyber to general availability and launched Patch the Planet, a Daybreak initiative with Trail of Bits and HackerOne that embeds security engineers and Codex across major open-source projects. 30+ projects including cURL, Go, Python, Sigstore, and pyca/cryptography have committed, with hundreds of issues found and dozens of patches merged. (OpenAI) It lands right after Anthropic expanded Project Glasswing to 150 orgs, and it's explicitly the rival play. Two frontier labs now compete to auto-harden the dependency tree you ship on. That's a genuinely good externality of the arms race, and the first one I'd want both of them spending on.
