Anthropic launched standalone Claude Design, Google unveiled Pics in Workspace, Canva shipped its own foundation model. Incumbents are holding revenue (Figma +41%, Canva +35%, Adobe +11.5%), but the threat is generation-from-intent replacing manual canvas work. Figma's Dylan Field argues AI is a tailwind, not a threat. As someone with 20 years in design, my read: the value is migrating from the editing surface to the prompt. The tool that generates beats the tool you operate, but taste still decides which generation ships.
