Salesforce Ships 40+ Prebuilt Skills for Agentforce Commerce

Salesforce shipped its largest Agentforce Commerce update yet, adding a toolkit of 40-plus prebuilt skills and a framework for installable commerce apps, per the company's newsroom post.

That 40-plus skill count is enough to function as a real marketplace, not a demo. It matters for anyone building on agents: skills, not standalone apps, are becoming the unit developers ship and merchants install.

The new Commerce Apps Framework lets developers publish those skills as installable apps inside Business Manager, the tool merchants already use to run their storefronts.

Launch partners include Stripe, Adyen, Avalara, Mirakl, and Forter, per Salesforce.

The company is also targeting general availability in ChatGPT and access in Gemini for summer 2026.

Salesforce built a marketplace shaped like MCP: skills are discrete, installable capabilities that plug into a host app instead of one agent doing everything. If that pattern holds, every commerce platform with an agent story ends up shipping its own skill catalog. My bet: installation friction, not skill count, decides who wins agentic checkout.

The expansion lands as agentic commerce moves from pilots to a productized marketplace, with Salesforce detailing the shift in its July 2 announcement.
