Stacking two discounts drops the price to $0.375 per million input tokens, a quarter of what returns January 2027.
Why now: The discount window runs out August 27, four days after this pricing appeared in coverage on August 23.
OpenRouter cut Gemini 3.7 Flash's price 50% below Google's own discounted rate, running through August 27, per the model's OpenRouter listing.
Anyone running agent workloads on Flash gets four days to lock in a quarter of the price the model will carry once 2027 rates apply.
Through August 27, input costs $0.375 per million tokens and output $1.875, half of Google's standing Vertex price. That Vertex price, $0.75 and $3.75, holds through 2026 before doubling to $1.50 and $7.50 on January 1, 2027.
The discount stacks twice. Google's own 50% introductory cut off the 2027 price produced the 2026 Vertex rate. OpenRouter added a second 50% cut on top, exclusive to its platform, through August 27.
Commenters on r/singularity read the extra cut as Google angling for agent interaction data to train on, a theory nobody has confirmed. Artificial Analysis's price and performance charts don't reflect the OpenRouter discount either. Any cost comparison pulled from them before August 27 understates how cheap Flash actually is.
