Superset ships an MCP plugin catalog, keeps it flagged off

Superset tagged three desktop builds between August 21 and 23, per its GitHub release page.

The project has 13,242 stars. It pitches itself as an agentic IDE built to run 100 or more coding agents in parallel. That runs on a developer's own subscriptions, not a hosted plan.

The headline feature in 1.24.2 is a Plugins MVP that adds MCP installs, shipped under PR #6722. It sits behind an internal flag, so the catalog is in the codebase but not switched on yet. The same release adds smaller navigation work: collapsible per-workspace groups in the ports dropdown and a Quick Create Workspace shortcut on Cmd+Shift+N.

For anyone deciding whether to run agent workflows through Superset instead of a hosted plan, the plugin catalog is the proof point. It's not live yet.

Three tagged builds in 48 hours is a fast pace for a Tauri-class desktop app. It reads like a statement about how Superset wants to compete, shipping in public before the feature underneath is switched on. The release notes don't say when the flag lifts or what has to happen first. Shipping fast shows Superset can move; it doesn't show plugins hold up at the 100-agent scale the whole pitch rests on.
