Nodeterm turns tmux sessions into a draggable node canvas

Running several AI coding agents at once usually means a wall of tmux panes or a row of terminal tabs, and neither scales past a handful of sessions before you lose track of which pane is doing what. nodeterm tries a different layout: each tmux-backed terminal becomes a node you drag around an infinite, pan-and-zoom canvas.

As of August 25, the project had gained 529 stars to reach 1,214 total. It ships builds for macOS and Linux, plus a browser-based Server Edition for running it remotely.

The repo is still early. It has 46 open issues against 125 forks, a ratio that suggests people are trying it and hitting rough edges faster than they're sending fixes back. Nothing in the release notes says whether the canvas view holds up once you're past a dozen concurrent sessions, or whether tmux's own session-recovery behavior survives a node getting dragged off-screen.

What's notable isn't the star count. It's that window management for parallel agent work has been an unsolved problem since multi-agent setups became common, and most people have just been living with tmux's flat pane grid because nothing better existed. A canvas where you can group agents by task, zoom out to see everything running, and zoom into one to type, is a different answer to a problem that's been treated as unsolvable rather than unaddressed.

If you're running more than two or three agents in parallel, this is worth a look before you build your own tmux wrapper to solve the same problem.
