Text-to-CAD library takes Claude Code from sketch to print

A GitHub library called text-to-cad chains ten skills, taking Claude Code and Codex from a sketch to a finished 3D print, per its repo.

For builders, that closes a gap agents haven't had: going from a written prompt to a validated, printable part without opening separate CAD software. The repo handles CAD modeling with STEP output, plus STL, 3MF and GLB export, built on build123d, a Python CAD kernel over OpenCascade.

It also covers steps that usually sit outside a coding agent's reach. step.parts handles sourcing for off-the-shelf screws and bearings, and DXF output covers 2D fabrication drawings.

SendCutSend runs pre-fabrication checks before a part gets cut, and URDF, SRDF and SDF formats handle robot description authoring.

G-code slicing ties to specific printer profiles, and finished jobs upload straight to a Bambu Labs printer.

A browser-based viewer covers CAD models, G-code and robot descriptions in one interface, per the repo. The whole thing lives in ten Markdown files, and it's picked up 2,262 GitHub stars.
