Hallmark's study mode reverse-engineers a design's DNA, and Nutlope's open-source skill has topped 4,758 GitHub stars.
Why now: Hallmark's GitHub star count reached 4,758 as of July 27, 2026.
Together AI's Nutlope built Hallmark, a design skill that runs 57 checks to keep AI-built interfaces from looking generic, per its GitHub page. The project has picked up 4,758 GitHub stars, a sign developers share the frustration with how Claude Code, Cursor and Codex tend to look.
Hallmark works as a skill inside all three tools. It selects from 20 themes and applies macrostructures based on context. Two different briefs produce different layouts instead of the same template with new copy, per the repo.
Three modes extend past first drafts. hallmark audit scores existing code against the same anti-pattern list. hallmark redesign restructures a page while keeping its content.
hallmark study extracts what the project calls design DNA from existing work, reverse-engineering a style so it can be reapplied elsewhere.
Coming from 20 years of design work, I'd bet on study mode over the other two. Audit and redesign are checklist enforcement, useful but mechanical. Study is trying to extract taste itself, the part of design work I've always found hardest to hand off to a tool. Whether it works will show in whether Hallmark's outputs actually diverge from each other, not only from the old AI look.

Twenty themes, 57 "slop-test" gates, four verbs (build, audit, redesign, study), targeting Claude Code, Cursor, and Codex. It hit #2 on GitHub Trending July 15 and reached 11.1K stars by July 17. This is the first widely adopted artifact treating taste as an installable, gate-...
wanshuiyin/HERO-Anti-OverDefense went from creation to 68 stars in a single day. HERO is Hashing, Edge cases, Rubrics, Overbuild, and the claim is that agent over-engineering isn't diffuse but falls into four recognizable shapes suppressible with a portable prompt contract acr...
The TypeScript project compiles a repository into an explorable, searchable graph you can ask questions against, with the explicit framing "graphs that teach beat graphs that impress." It targets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Copilot. Directly relevant if your agent currentl...
chrome-devtools-mcp isn't another community MCP server with 200 stars and a README that doesn't match the code. It's Google's Chrome DevTools team shipping an official MCP server that gives any coding agent (Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Codex, Cursor) full access to Chrome DevTool...
A local-first observability dashboard that tails agent session files to show plans, tool calls, file changes and progress in real time across three different coding agents, MIT-licensed, still being pushed today (GitHub). It's the only repo carrying the agent-observability top...
Issue 6235 on anthropics/claude-code asks Claude Code to read AGENTS.md, the config file that Codex, Amp, Cursor and most other harnesses already load, rather than only CLAUDE.md. It has been open since August 2025. It has accumulated over 5,200 reactions and 300+ comments, ma...
