PromptArmor went public August 5 (248 points on HN) after Atlassian went silent. Rovo's URL-retrieval tool has no protection against URLs the agent itself generates, so indirect prompt injection reaches anything behind its connectors. Disabling web search doesn't help: it removes the search tool but leaves the tool that opens search results. Timeline is disclosed May 23, acknowledged May 25, follow-ups June 4 and July 29, then nothing. No CVE. Still vulnerable. Incumbent AI features are shipping with less security review than the products they're bolted onto, and this is the receipt.

Varonis Threat Labs disclosed at DEF CON 34 that Rovo's rovoChatPrompt URL parameter pre-fills content straight into a victim's live AI session, and leaving the organization ID blank silently routes into the victim's default org with no warning (SecurityWeek). Rovo's built-in...
July 15 shipped a system letting teams assign work to Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot from inside Jira, with Atlassian's own Jira Coding Agent included free in every paid Jira Cloud plan across 350,000+ accounts and 85% of the Fortune 500, backed by the Teamwork Graph...

Arctic Wolf published a critical advisory for a CVSS 10.0 vulnerability in the mcp-atlassian MCP server — one of the most widely deployed connectors linking agents to Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. A remote attacker with zero credentials can execute arbitrary code and pivot...
Financial Times reports Atlassian is the hardest-hit major SaaS company in the "SaaSpocalypse" — systematic compression of developer seat counts as AI agents reduce headcount for software development. Jira and Confluence face direct substitution pressure as coding agents handl...
$1.1B cloud revenue, up 29%, stock up 29% on the report (CNBC). Their argument is that AI creates more work and more seats, not fewer. I don't think that's universally true, but it's the strongest data point against the "AI kills seats" thesis, and it deserves to be in the con...
